Inauguration of Improved Fish Drying Technology in Chattogram


Chattogram, March 8, 2025 – A special inauguration ceremony for the Demonstration and Distribution of Improved Fish Drying Technology was held at Bastuhara, Purba Bakulia, Chattogram. The initiative, part of the Pesticide Risk Reduction in Bangladesh project, aims to promote safe and sustainable fish drying methods, reducing health risks associated with harmful pesticides.

Dr. Md. Abdur Rouf, Director General of the Department of Fisheries, Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest. He emphasized the importance of adopting improved fish drying techniques to ensure food safety and enhance the livelihoods of fish processors.


The program, supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other stakeholders, focused on raising awareness about pesticide-free fish processing and distribution. Participants included fisheries officials, local stakeholders, and industry experts, all committed to sustainable fish drying practices for a healthier fu
